Prunes, Pears and Poop

Wondering what we've been up to? Trying to poop! It seems I have a fixation with poop lately, but what I have recently learned is pooping is just as important as eating. If she can't poop, she ain't happy. If she's hungry, she ain't happy. And she has been miserable...going on 3 days. We've tried prunes, pear juice, water and a lovely suppository with minimal relief. Wish us luck on this new journey to poop.

Warning

This morning I woke up to a full, dirty diaper...nothing out of the ordinary. I took off Lo's diaper and immediately felt like I was going to be sick. I have probably changed 95% of her diapers, yet I have never smelled something so horrid in my life. I had to take a step back and try to get rid of the horrible taste forming in my mouth. I held my breath, dug in, and changed the dirtiest diaper faster than I ever have before. I wondered what in the world could make my sweet, lovable Lauryn smell so disgusting. Then I remembered...I had garlic the day before. Not just minced garlic sprinkled here and there, real garlic, garlic cloves.

I considered posting a picture, gross I know, but figured that really wouldn't accomplish anything because I couldn't make it scratch and sniff, again...I know...gross. Besides, everyone would really start to wonder about how much I get out, why I think poop is picturesque and who would scratch and sniff poop anyways.

So, I thought I would put this warning out there to all of you nursing mom's, soon to be nursing mom's and considering nursing mom's. Learn from my mistake. STAY AWAY FROM GARLIC! Consider yourself warned.

Biggest John Deere ever!

Andy is our 2 year old nephew who absolutely LOVES John Deere. He was over this weekend and spotted the tractor in the garage. He asked to sit on the biggest John Deere he ever saw! I sat him on it and asked Uncle Brandon and Uncle Matt to watch him. Next thing I knew the tractor was starting up and Andy was in the drivers seat. I think that blew the toy tractor I gave him out of the water.

This is what happens when Uncle Brandon and Uncle Matt babysit

Yuuummmm Part 2

Well it's not the same as our food that she stares at when we're eating, but Lo seems to be taking a liking to rice cereal. I still think she wears more than she actually eats. But we're making progress!

Flower power

Yes, mommy is at it again. Yes, this flower is half the size of my head. Yes, daddy hates it.

4 month check-up

Lo had her 4 month check-up doctor appt. She weighed 13.5 lbs and was 24.5 in long. She is in the 50th percentile for both. I don't remember her head circumference, bad mom...I know, but that was in the 50th percentile too. Doc said everything looked great and she is an extremely happy, healthy 4 month old. Then she got her shots and the smiles were done.

Chillin

Lo's first stroller ride sitting up. I think she was so excited to see the world instead of staring at the canopy.
Loves to have her feet up

All she needs is a drink in hand

Beach babe

Enjoying our beach at home. Nice job Daddy!
Lo loves the lake
Her first swimsuit. Ain't she a cutie!

Mother's Day

Being a mother is the most rewarding, fulfilling experience. I never imagined I could wake up in the morning after 2 hours of sleep and smile. I feel so blessed everyday to have Lauryn in my life and to be able to stay at home with her. Thank you babe for giving me the best life.

This dress was mine when I was a baby.

Say what

This kid kept trying to tell me something but I was too distracted by his good looks and charm.

Could we be in-laws someday Mike & Kristi?

The Godfather

Superstar

We took Lo out to her first restaurant. Little did we know we had a superstar on our hands. She insisted on standing on the table and screaming (a happy scream) as loud as she could so everybody could hear her and look at her of course. Luckily, everyone thought she was cute and told me apologies were not necessary, they enjoyed the entertainment. I wonder where she gets this from...

First time with rice cereal

Wasn't bad but wasn't good. We had bath time afterwards.
